Designed and built for a busy professional family with small children, this kitchen needed to be highly functional while also durable and beautiful, as it is central to the home's open floorpan and visible from the entire first floor. The blue island transitions the kitchen to living space nicely with the bright white perimeter cabinets maintaining a clean focus around the room. The 2" thick wood island top is finished with mineral oil so that it can be used for food prep as well as service. This natural finish gives the top a rustic farmhouse feel. Custom pullouts, corner drawers, and a shelf for a step stool are key ingredients to making this kitchen work for a busy family.
